A BORN COWBOY
Dustin Kuykendall is a born cowboy from the heart of California whose greatest loves are his family and ranching. Dustin and his wife, Kaci, are raising three farm-loving children on their ranch in the small town of Denair, located on the outskirts of Turlock, California.
Dustin can’t remember a time when he didn’t want to be a cattle rancher. “’Cattle’ was basically my first word and my first love,” he says. “I grew up knowing I wanted to raise cattle and always be around them.” This certainty took Dustin to Fresno State University, where he earned a degree in Animal Science. Working on a number of ranches taught Dustin what it took to run a cattle operation, and it shaped his views on how to do it the right way.
After more than 20 years raising cattle, Dustin knew that he could provide a better product to the region and beyond. He was drawn to the quality and flavor of American Wagyu and decided that was the kind of cattle he wanted on his ranch and on the tables of his customers.
One of Dustin’s favorite things about owning his ranch is meandering through the Siskiyou National Forest on his horse, Mack, and watching the cows peacefully grazing. “It’s a dream come true,” he says.
